Raipur, October 9, 2025 / The Government of India has approved 2.5 million new LPG connections nationwide under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. Under this, 1.59 lakh eligible mothers and sisters in Chhattisgarh will receive the benefits of the Ujjwala Yojana through “Sushasan Tihar” and “Niyad Nella Nar Yojana”. This decision will bring the light of clean energy and health into the lives of millions of mothers and sisters in Chhattisgarh.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai has expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Union Petroleum Minister Shri Hardeep Singh Puri. He said that the light spread by the Ujjwala Yojana towards women empowerment will form the basis of the development of the entire society in the coming years.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the mother power of Chhattisgarh has always been the pivot of family and society. Through the Ujjwala Yojana, they have received the respect they deserve. The Chief Minister said that the state government, under the leadership of the Prime Minister, is committed to delivering the benefits of this scheme to every eligible sister. This decision by the Government of India will bring a significant improvement in the quality of life in states like Chhattisgarh. Women in rural and forest areas will now be able to live in a pollution-free environment.
It is noteworthy that approximately 2.8 million women in Chhattisgarh are currently benefiting from the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana.
