A fatal road accident on the Chakradharpur-Chaibasa route has resulted in a significant traffic disruption and community protest. Vijay Pan, a resident of Baihatu village, lost his life after being hit by a Manjila bus traveling from Ranchi. The collision occurred near Baihatu village on NH-75E. In the wake of the incident, locals and the victim’s family expressed their grief and anger by blocking the main road. The highway remained impassable for about three hours as villagers demanded immediate compensation. They vowed not to move the body until their demands were fulfilled. Police intervention was necessary to manage the situation. After protracted negotiations and the family receiving initial compensation from the authorities, the road was cleared. The flow of traffic was restored late at night. The body has been taken for a post-mortem, and a formal investigation into the circumstances of the accident is ongoing.
