Union Minister Suresh Gopi has voiced his intention to resign from his ministerial responsibilities, citing the complete cessation of his income from acting as the primary reason. Speaking at a recent party function, Gopi, a well-known personality in Malayalam cinema, revealed his deep-seated desire to resume his film career. He currently serves as the Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas and Tourism. ‘I need to earn more; my income has now stopped completely,’ Gopi explained, indicating that financial imperatives are driving his decision. He further recommended C Sadanandan Master, a senior BJP leader and Rajya Sabha member from Kerala, as his successor in the Union Cabinet. Gopi spoke highly of Master’s political acumen and suggested his elevation would be a noteworthy development for Kerala. This announcement underscores the personal sacrifices and financial adjustments often required when prominent individuals transition into politics, particularly when their previous careers were highly lucrative.
