
A significant meeting was convened in Ranchi to finalize preparations for the 4th SAAF Senior Athletic Championship 2025, slated for October 24-26. Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri led the discussions, focusing on operational readiness at the Birsa Munda Football Stadium. This international athletics event, under the SAAF banner, will host elite competitors and officials from countries such as India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. The championship is expected to significantly promote sports within the region and offer a coveted platform for young athletes to showcase their skills on an international scale. Key agenda items included meticulous planning for stadium security, traffic management systems, healthcare provisions, participant accommodation and travel, media operations, and emergency response plans. The Deputy Commissioner underscored the event’s potential to invigorate sporting spirit and position Ranchi as a prominent international sports venue. He directed all involved departments to work in synergy, proactively addressing any concerns to guarantee a successful event. The administration appealed for full public cooperation to make this international spectacle a resounding success, assuring that spectator safety and comfort would be top priorities.
