The stage is set for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, with the final three qualifying teams now confirmed, bringing the total participant count to 20. India and Sri Lanka are slated to co-host this major international T20 cricket spectacle in early 2026. Nepal, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) successfully navigated the Asia/East Asia-Pacific Qualifier to secure their coveted places in the tournament.
This qualification marks a significant milestone for Nepal, representing their third T20 World Cup appearance and second consecutive participation. Oman is set to feature for the fourth time, while the UAE makes a return to the global stage for their third appearance and first since 2022. Joining them as debutants will be Italy, who earned their spot through the European Qualifiers, alongside the established Netherlands.
Reigning champions India, who defeated South Africa in a thrilling 2024 final, will aim for another triumph. India holds the distinction of being a multi-time T20 World Cup champion, a status shared with England and the West Indies. The tournament format for 2026 will feature 20 teams organized into four groups of five. The top two finishers from each group will advance to the Super Eights phase, comprising two groups of four teams. The knockout stages will then see the top two from each Super Eights group move on to the semi-finals.
The complete roster of teams for the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup includes: India, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, South Africa, USA, West Indies, Ireland, New Zealand, Pakistan, Canada, Italy, Netherlands, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Nepal, Oman, and UAE.
