
Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka experienced a fire outbreak on Saturday afternoon, causing a complete suspension of flight services. The fire, located near Gate 8, began around 2:30 pm and necessitated the deployment of a large contingent of emergency responders. A total of 28 firefighting units, along with support from the Bangladesh Navy, Air Force, and Border Guard Bangladesh, worked to contain the situation. Airport management assured the public that all aircraft were safe and pledged transparency regarding further developments. Authorities have reported no immediate injuries or major damage to airport infrastructure. The reason behind the fire is currently being investigated. All air traffic is expected to remain grounded until approximately 6:00 pm, leading to the diversion of several flights to Chattogram and Sylhet airports.
