Afghanistan’s U19 cricket contingent is heading to India for a compelling ODI Tri-series next month. The series, kicking off on November 17 in Bengaluru, will see the Afghanistan U19s lock horns with two domestic Indian U19 sides: India U19 A and India U19 B. This tournament is a critical component of the team’s preparation strategy for the forthcoming ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup and the ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2026, which are key events for aspiring cricketers.
The Afghanistan Cricket Board has invested heavily in its junior program, with players undergoing extensive training and participating in international tours. This series in India, along with an upcoming tour to Bangladesh, is designed to provide the team with invaluable match experience against competitive opponents. The structure of the Tri-series involves a double round-robin format, meaning every team will face each other twice. The top two teams will then compete in the final on November 30. This series is particularly important as the U19 World Cup is scheduled to be hosted in Zimbabwe and Namibia.
