
Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the tributes to advertising legend Piyush Pandey, who passed away today at the age of 70. The Prime Minister described Pandey as a creative genius whose work made a “monumental contribution” to the industry. PM Modi expressed that he would always treasure the memories of their interactions.
‘I deeply admired Piyush Pandey Ji’s creativity. He made a monumental contribution to advertising and communications,’ PM Modi wrote on X. ‘Our interactions were always memorable. His passing is a great loss. My thoughts are with his loved ones and admirers. Om Shanti.’
Piyush Pandey, a Padma Shri awardee and LIA Legend honoree, was a transformative figure in Indian advertising. He is celebrated for bringing relatable language and humor into advertising, and for his role in shaping impactful campaigns, including the memorable ‘Abki baar Modi Sarkar’ for the 2014 general elections, which became a national phenomenon.
