
A weekend gathering intended for Halloween revelry in Robeson County, North Carolina, ended in devastation with a shooting that left two people dead and eleven others wounded. The incident unfolded early Saturday morning at a rural property on Dixon Drive, where around 150 individuals had assembled. Deputies responded to the scene at approximately 3 a.m. following reports of gunfire. The scene upon their arrival was chaotic, with the majority of attendees having departed, leaving behind evidence of a struggle and discharged firearms. Sheriff Burnis Wilkins characterized the event as an early Halloween celebration gone tragically wrong. He assured the public that this appears to be an isolated incident and that the community is not currently at risk. Detectives are actively pursuing leads, processing the crime scene, and interviewing those present. Law enforcement has yet to release the victims’ identities and is requesting any information that could aid their inquiry.
