Khunti police have successfully arrested two individuals responsible for a near-fatal shooting of businessman Shafiq Mian. The incident took place near the Akhara Maidan in Chhata village, Karra, leaving the victim severely wounded.
The arrested pair, identified as Shahid Mian from Karra’s Baraik Toli and Modasir Ahmad alias Mo Raja Khan from Haider Complex, Khunti, have confessed to their involvement. The motive, as revealed in police interrogations, was a conflict over a market stall.
Shafiq Mian and Shahid Mian were reportedly engaged in a dispute concerning the establishment of a cosmetics (‘manihari’) shop in the Rola Guttu village market. This ongoing disagreement escalated into the violent attack on October 13th.
A specialized police team, tasked by Superintendent of Police Manish Tappo, worked diligently to crack the case. The rapid arrests and subsequent recovery of the getaway scooty and two live cartridges underscore the effectiveness of the police’s investigative procedures and commitment to public safety.
