
A horrific road accident on the Hyderabad-Bijapur highway in Telangana has led to a tragic loss of life, with 19 people confirmed dead and several others sustaining injuries. The collision occurred near Khanapur Gate in the Rangareddy district, involving a TGSRTC bus and a tipper truck.
The incident took place around 6:30 am when the bus, heading towards Hyderabad from Tandur with about 70 passengers, was hit by a truck coming from the opposite direction on the wrong side of the road. The truck, loaded with concrete, veered into the bus’s lane, causing a catastrophic impact.
Reports from the scene describe scenes of devastation, with survivors trapped and injured. Rescue teams and local volunteers worked under difficult conditions to free trapped passengers, with the assistance of multiple heavy-duty excavators. The concrete payload from the truck reportedly collapsed onto the bus, intensifying the rescue challenge.
The injured have been transferred to the Chevella government hospital, where medical staff are providing urgent care. The condition of some individuals is reported as critical, prompting close monitoring by health officials.
This accident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers on Indian roads. The government has committed to providing full support to the victims’ families and ensuring comprehensive medical aid for the injured.
