Chhattisgarh is marking its Silver Jubilee Year with a dynamic national-level event: the National Supercross Bike Racing Championship, launched by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai. The Chief Minister personally flagged off the championship at Raipur’s Budhapara Stadium with a spirited motorcycle ride, underscoring the event’s significance and his support for promoting safe motorsports. The initiative aims to instill principles of discipline, responsibility, and safety in young riders across the state.
During the event, CM Sai emphasized the need for channeling youth energy productively. “It is our responsibility to guide the enthusiasm and speed of the youth in the right direction and provide them with an appropriate platform,” he declared. He passionately advocated for safe riding habits, reminding everyone, “Your life is precious, therefore always wear a helmet while riding a two-wheeler and follow traffic rules. Do not race on the road at all.” This message was reinforced by the very nature of the championship, which utilizes a purpose-built safe racing circuit, demonstrating that competitive speed can coexist with safety. The championship, scheduled for November 8-9, is seen as a vital platform for aspiring racers and a symbol of Chhattisgarh’s growing presence in the Indian motorsports landscape. The Chhattisgarh Motor Sports Association’s president, Ujjwal Deepak, highlighted the event’s deeper purpose: “Let speed be a passion, not a danger.”
