Bihar’s political arena is buzzing with activity as the Election Commission of India has signaled the start of the 2025 Assembly Elections. The voting process for the 243 constituencies will unfold in two phases: November 6 and November 11. The crucial vote count is scheduled for November 14, determining the next government. The electoral battleground is primarily contested by the NDA, Mahagathbandhan, and Jan Suraaj.
The NDA alliance has reached a seat-sharing agreement. The JDU and BJP will each field candidates in 101 constituencies. LJP-RV is set to contest 29 seats, and HAM will participate in 6 constituencies.
On the other side, the Mahagathbandhan, comprising RJD, Congress, VIP, and Left parties, is intensifying its campaign. While seat allocations have led to some friendly rivalries, the core objective remains to challenge the ruling coalition and prevent any single party from dominating.
Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj party is making a bold statement by aiming to contest every single one of the 243 seats, presenting itself as a distinct alternative for voters.
Adding another layer of complexity, AIMIM, led by Asaduddin Owaisi, plans to field candidates in a considerable number of seats. This strategy has sparked discussions about its potential impact on vote distribution, especially in areas with significant Muslim populations.
Below is a comprehensive overview of the candidate list and their constituencies for the main political fronts: NDA, Mahagathbandhan, and Jan Suraaj.
