The thrilling five-match T20 International series between India and Australia is currently locked at 1-1, setting the stage for an intense showdown in Canberra. After a rained-out opener and a decisive win for Australia in the second T20I, India staged a remarkable comeback, successfully chasing a target of 187 in the third fixture. The Indian team management has decided to release spinner Kuldeep Yadav, who will now focus on red-ball cricket.
Several changes were implemented for the third T20I, with Arshdeep Singh, Washington Sundar, and Jitesh Sharma all making their presence felt. These players are expected to retain their spots. However, one key alteration is anticipated for the fourth T20I in Canberra: Nitish Kumar Reddy is reportedly set to feature in place of Shivam Dube. Reddy brings valuable lower-order batting support and an additional bowling option, addressing areas where the Indian team might seek enhancement.
Across the aisle, Australia is also planning alterations. Travis Head has departed for Sheffield Shield duties, and Glenn Maxwell has been called in as his replacement, expected to reinforce the middle order. Josh Philippe could also step in to open alongside captain Mitchell Marsh. Both teams are focused on solidifying their strategies and securing a lead as the series approaches its climax.
