A pall of sorrow has fallen over Alwar with the news of Ajit Chaudhary’s death in Russia. The 21-year-old MBBS student, who went missing on October 19, was found deceased near a dam in Ufa, where he was attending Buxar State University. His disappearance had caused considerable distress to his family and friends.
According to initial findings, Ajit’s jacket and mobile phone were found by the Russian Police on a riverbank on October 20, followed by the discovery of his shoes. His roommate reported that Ajit had left his accommodation to get milk from the warden and did not return. The family, who had pooled resources and sold land for his education, is grappling with the devastating news and the mysterious circumstances.
Concerns over Ajit’s death have been amplified, with indications that the situation may not be straightforward. The family has expressed doubts, noting that the warden’s account suggests a potential fall into the river, but this remains unconfirmed. Ajit had a routine video call with his mother and sister on Diwali, expressing his excitement about returning to India the following month. His untimely demise has led to appeals for a comprehensive investigation and the swift repatriation of his body.
