A powerful alliance of former Indian cricketers, led by Venkatesh Prasad, is campaigning to lead the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA). Prasad, vying for the KSCA presidency, has declared his commitment to restoring the M Chinnaswamy Stadium to its former glory and ensuring a safe environment for fans. He highlighted the recent stampede as a critical issue that needs immediate attention and resolution. Backed by Anil Kumble and Javagal Srinath, who expressed disappointment over the current state of Karnataka cricket, Prasad aims to revitalize the sport in the state. His manifesto includes reviving fan engagement, strengthening the domestic structure, and notably, developing a state-of-the-art women’s cricket academy to nurture future talent and ensure greater representation.
