Authorities have apprehended a woman doctor from Lucknow as part of a sweeping investigation into a terror module with inter-state reach, encompassing Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh. Dr. Shaheen was arrested after an AK-47 rifle was found in a vehicle registered under her ownership. This latest arrest is a critical advancement following the seizure of 360 kilograms of explosives and a significant quantity of arms from a rented residence in Dhauj village, Faridabad. The previous occupant of this house was identified as Dr. Muzammil Shakil, a physician from Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir, who was reportedly an instructor at Al-Falah Medical College. With Dr. Shaheen’s detention, the total number of arrests connected to this alleged Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind (AGuH) aligned module now stands at eight. She is the third doctor to be taken into custody. Officials have stated that Dr. Shaheen has been moved to Srinagar for custodial interrogation. This coordinated success is attributed to a joint operation by the police of Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana, in close coordination with national intelligence agencies. Additionally, a separate search uncovered 2,563 kilograms of ammonium nitrate at another location leased by Dr. Shakil, prompting the detention of the property owner for further inquiries.
