Indian intelligence agencies have uncovered and neutralized a massive terror plot that planned to use 32 car bombs, packed with a combined 3,200 kilograms of explosives, to strike across the country. This sinister operation, orchestrated by a sophisticated ‘white-collar’ terror module, threatened to unleash devastation on a scale never before witnessed, potentially marking it as the deadliest terrorist attack in history. The sheer volume of ammonium nitrate amassed was enough to create multiple devastating explosions, capable of leveling buildings and causing mass casualties over wide areas. Analysis suggests that a simultaneous detonation could have resulted in thousands of deaths and widespread destruction, far surpassing historical atrocities like the Oklahoma City bombing. Security forces have made significant progress, recovering a substantial amount of the explosives and tracing some of the planned vehicles. However, concerns remain about the whereabouts of 300 kilograms of missing explosives and 29 untraced vehicles, highlighting the persistent nature of the threat. The successful disruption of this plot is a testament to India’s robust security apparatus, preventing a national catastrophe.
