A grim discovery was made at Dhurwa Dam in Ranchi, Jharkhand, on Saturday morning with the recovery of three police officers’ bodies. The victims were identified as two bodyguards attached to the Principal District Judge of Jamshedpur and their government driver. The fatal incident is believed to have happened late Friday night when their car reportedly went out of control and plunged into the waters of Dhurwa Dam. The swift action of local residents alerted the police, who, along with divers and local support, managed to pull the submerged car out of the dam after a challenging 2-3 hour operation. The operation yielded the bodies of Upendra Kumar Singh, Robin Kujur, and Satendra Singh, as well as two police weapons. Hatia DSP Pramod Kumar Mishra confirmed that the loss of control over the vehicle was the primary cause of the accident. Police are now meticulously investigating the sequence of events, focusing on the journey from the Judicial Academy in Dhurwa towards the dam and the condition of the retrieved vehicle.
