
The 9th convocation of Sidhu Kanhu Murmu University (SKMU) took place on Monday at the Dumka convention center, a landmark event for the institution. The ceremony was graced by the Governor of Jharkhand and the university’s Chancellor, Santosh Kumar Gangwar, who took the honor of distributing gold medals and degrees to distinguished students. This year’s convocation recognized 78 students with gold medals and conferred doctoral degrees upon 37 PhD scholars. Additionally, 33,697 students received their degrees in absentia, marking their successful academic journeys.
Academic prowess was celebrated with Tripti Shobha Marandi being named the Best Graduate. A student from St. Xavier’s College, Maharo’s Mathematics department (UG 2021-24 session), Marandi achieved the highest academic standing. The event also featured a rich display of Indian cultural heritage, evident in the traditional Indian attire worn by many attendees, adding a festive atmosphere.
