Russia has launched its largest-ever full-scale weapons display at the Dubai Airshow 2025, signaling a determined effort to expand its defense market share, particularly in the Middle East. This extensive exhibition, led by ROSOBORONEXPORT, features a comprehensive range of military hardware, including the highly anticipated Su-57E stealth fighter, advanced missile systems, various drones, and sophisticated electronic warfare technologies.
The global defense industry is on track for substantial growth, projected to reach over $800 billion in the next decade, with the Middle East being a key market. Russia’s prominent 1,000-square-meter pavilion reflects its ambition to be a major player in this expanding sector.
The Russian exhibit is a collective effort by leading manufacturers such as the United Aircraft Corporation and the Almaz-Antey Air and Space Defence Corporation, showcasing over 850 products. More than 30 major weapon systems are presented in full-scale static displays, offering potential buyers an in-depth look at Russia’s military capabilities.
The Su-57E, Russia’s export-oriented fifth-generation stealth fighter, is poised for its Middle Eastern debut in flight demonstrations. This aircraft is being positioned for sale to regional nations, with offers extending to technology transfer and localized production, potentially involving packages valued at $5-7 billion. This approach aims to foster indigenous defense capabilities in partner countries.
The Su-57E’s static display highlights its internal weapons suite, featuring a variety of missiles including the RVV-MD2, RVV-BD, Kh-38MLE, Kh-69, Grom-E1, and Kh-58UShKE. These armaments emphasize the fighter’s multi-role capabilities, designed to compete directly with advanced Western aircraft.
Russia’s aviation portfolio at the show also includes the IL-76MD-90A(E) heavy airlifter, known for its significant cargo capacity and operational range. The Yak-130M light combat and trainer aircraft is making its world premiere, boasting upgraded avionics and a wider array of guided weaponry. The adaptable Ka-52 attack helicopter is also set to impress with its flight performance. Furthermore, Russia is showcasing its latest propulsion technology with the Item 177S turbojet engine.
Unmanned systems are a significant focus, with Russia presenting reconnaissance UAVs such as the Orlan-10E and Orlan-30, alongside the combat-proven Lancet-E loitering munition.
