Corruption has been dealt a blow in Palamu with the arrest of a senior official in Chainpur. Vinod Kumar, a ‘Bada Babu’ at the Chainpur Anchal office, was arrested on Thursday by the Palamu divisional team of the Bureau of Investigation (ACB) for allegedly accepting a bribe. The sum involved was 5,500 rupees. The arrest followed a tip-off from a citizen who reported being asked for payment to obtain copies of records. The ACB conducted a thorough verification of the complaint, confirming the demand for a bribe. A well-planned operation led to Kumar being apprehended with the bribe money, marking another success for the ACB in its fight against graft.
