Star South African pace spearhead Kagiso Rabada has been ruled out of the remainder of the India tour, including the second Test in Guwahati and the upcoming white-ball series. Rabada missed the Proteas’ first Test victory in Kolkata due to a rib bone stress injury. The South African medical team’s efforts to manage his condition have been hampered by ongoing discomfort, leading to the decision to send him home after the second Test to begin a four-week rehabilitation program. Lungi Ngidi has been brought in as a precautionary measure and to provide bowling cover. With Rabada’s absence, South Africa might opt for an unchanged lineup. Their bowling attack in the first Test was formidable, with Simon Harmer earning Player of the Match for his eight wickets, supported by Keshav Maharaj and the pace trio of Marco Jansen, Wiaan Mulder, and Corbin Bosch. The Proteas are on a mission to secure their first Test series win in India in over two decades, following their impressive 30-run victory in the opening match.
