A critical suspect in the Delhi Red Fort car bombing, Dr. Adeel Ahmed Rather, was exhibiting signs of severe financial strain just prior to the attack, as evidenced by recovered WhatsApp conversations. The chats, dating from September 5th to 9th, show Dr. Adeel repeatedly requesting an advance on his salary, citing an overwhelming ‘dire need of money’. Authorities believe this financial distress could be directly linked to his alleged involvement in funding the terror plot. Dr. Adeel, who had recently taken up a position at a Saharanpur hospital in March 2025, was reportedly pleading with a senior individual, possibly from Al Falah University, for early access to his earnings. His messages convey a sense of urgency and increasing desperation over several days. Investigators are meticulously examining the recovered exchanges to determine if the funds Adeel was so eager to secure were instrumental in the conspiracy. His alleged role as treasurer and a substantial financial contribution to the blast underscore the significance of these financial inquiries.
