
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has officially launched Skyroot Aerospace’s impressive Infinity Campus and unveiled the Vikram-I orbital rocket, signaling a pivotal advancement for India’s private space initiatives. This newly inaugurated facility boasts a massive 200,000 square feet of workspace dedicated to the comprehensive design, development, integration, and testing of various launch vehicles. During a virtual address, the Prime Minister characterized the occasion as a landmark moment, emphasizing the transformative leap being made by the private sector within India’s space landscape. He stated that the Infinity Campus is a clear manifestation of India’s ‘new thinking,’ its spirit of innovation, and the dynamic energy of its youth. Prime Minister Modi recounted India’s space exploration history, from its resource-constrained origins to its current standing as a world-class developer of reliable launch systems. He articulated that India’s space sector is rapidly becoming a magnet for global investment and talent, especially as worldwide demand for small satellites continues to surge and space is increasingly viewed as a strategic asset. This expansion of the global space economy presents considerable prospects for Indian innovators and entrepreneurs. Skyroot, a pioneering private space company, has previously achieved a significant milestone with the successful launch of the Vikram-S rocket.
