Recent days have seen considerable attention on the wedding plans of cricketer Smriti Mandhana and singer Palash Muchhal, a narrative now dominated by a serious health concern and a wave of unfounded rumors. The wedding celebrations reportedly ceased abruptly when Smriti Mandhana’s father became critically ill during the event. This unfortunate incident triggered a barrage of online speculation, with many rumors unfairly targeting Palash Muchhal and accusing him of wrongdoing, none of which have been substantiated.
Reports indicate that Palash Muchhal himself was hospitalized in Mumbai shortly after returning from the wedding venue in Sangli, citing severe exhaustion. The family’s decision to remove wedding-related content from social media platforms further heightened the sense of crisis. Offering support and seeking to quell the online speculation, Palash’s cousin, Neeti Tak, took to social media. She urged the public to refrain from judgment, stating, “Palash is going through a critical condition today. You all should not judge him without knowing the truth… Pray for him.”
Palak Muchhal, Palash’s sister, had previously addressed the situation on November 25th, requesting privacy due to Smriti’s father’s health. She confirmed that the wedding, originally scheduled for November 23rd, had been postponed. The couple’s pre-wedding ceremonies, including haldi and sangeet, had previously gone viral. Even Prime Minister Narendra Modi had extended his congratulations and best wishes to the couple in a letter.
