Secretary Kristi Noem explicitly stated that the Biden administration bears direct responsibility for the fatalities, noting that the accused’s immigration process was initiated under their watch. “The consequences of the shooting and the death of Sarah are directly on the shoulders of Joe Biden and his administration,” Noem asserted. Lakanwal, who had served with a special Afghan Army unit, arrived in the United States through Operation Allies Welcome. He now faces first-degree murder charges, while the injured guard member receives treatment. Reports indicate the suspect had expressed difficulties settling into American life.
