The Winter Session of Parliament commences today, December 1, 2025, ushering in a period of legislative activity and potential political confrontation. Over the next three weeks, concluding on December 19, 2025, Parliament will hold 15 sittings. The agenda, as set by the Business Advisory Committee, includes the tabling and discussion of several significant bills. The Manipur Goods and Services Tax (GST) Bill and Central Excise Bills are allocated three hours each for debate, alongside a similar duration for the Supplementary Demand for Grants. A potentially lengthy 10-hour debate on the ‘Vande Mataram’ issue has been put forth for consideration.
