Speculation surrounding the wedding of Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana and music director Palash Muchhal continues after an unexpected postponement. The November 23 ceremony was called off when Smriti’s father became unwell and required hospitalization, with Palash also needing brief medical care. While both individuals have since been discharged, a new wedding date remains unconfirmed by their families.
Social media platforms were abuzz with claims of a December 7 wedding, but Smriti’s brother, Shravan Mandhana, has firmly denied these rumors. He stated that the families have not finalized any new arrangements and the wedding is still postponed. “I have no idea about these rumors. As of now, it (the wedding) is still postponed,” Shravan told reporters, effectively debunking the supposed date.
Meanwhile, Palash Muchhal’s mother, Amita, expressed her longing for the wedding to take place soon. She acknowledged the emotional impact of the recent events on both families. “Smriti and Palash are both in distress… Palash dreamt of coming home with his bride. I had even planned a special welcome…Everything will be fine, the wedding will happen very soon,” she remarked, indicating a hopeful sentiment.
The situation has drawn attention and well wishes from public figures. Veteran actor Suniel Shetty recently commended Jemimah Rodrigues, an Indian cricketer, for her unwavering support of Smriti. Rodrigues’ decision to step away from the Women’s Big Bash League to be present for Smriti was hailed by Shetty as a powerful display of true camaraderie and friendship.
