As Russian President Vladimir Putin prepares for his December 4-5 visit to India, New Delhi is implementing an extraordinary security lockdown. Nearly 50 Russian security personnel have already arrived, initiating thorough security sweeps of all planned venues. This operation is being conducted under a strict “secret cover,” according to officials involved. The security strategy involves multiple layers, commencing with NSG commandos taking charge of the outer perimeter upon Putin’s arrival. The Special Protection Group (SPG), Intelligence Bureau (IB), Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), and Delhi Police will collectively form successive protective rings. Advanced technology plays a crucial role, with the deployment of jammers, AI-driven surveillance, route sanitization squads, and anti-sniper teams. The accommodation site for the Russian president has undergone complete security sanitization and will feature 24/7 vigilance. A dedicated wing will house the accompanying delegation. The advance security team, comprising 50 officers, has been meticulously assessing Putin’s itinerary and possible alternative locations, maintaining discreet communication with a select few Indian security experts. Putin’s personal security contingent typically numbers around 100 officers, and his state-of-the-art armored Aurus Senat limousine will be transported for his use. His security protocol famously includes undercover units that infiltrate locations prior to his arrival to gather intelligence. A unique feature of his travel is a portable laboratory designed to test every meal before consumption, ensuring the President only eats cleared food. Reports also suggest the use of a portable toilet, a measure believed to be part of a national security protocol to avoid leaving any biological traces that could compromise his health information. Delhi’s security forces are working in full concert with the Russian contingent, ensuring an exceptionally secure environment for this high-profile state visit.
