Sadar MLA Pradeep Prasad conducted an impromptu inspection of the drinking water store at Chhadwa Dam on Sunday, expressing strong disapproval of its neglected condition. The MLA was deeply concerned by the unsanitary and hazardous state of the facility. His inspection revealed that the water store was covered in dirt and grime, with no evidence of bleaching powder treatment or regular cleaning efforts. The presence of substantial algae growth was identified as a critical health hazard for the populace. MLA Prasad also pointed out the surrounding area’s unkempt appearance, characterized by litter and disorder, which he deemed a consequence of the responsible department’s lax approach to upkeep and sanitation.
Following this inspection, Pradeep Prasad issued urgent orders to the Municipal Commissioner and relevant authorities. He mandated that the entire drinking water system undergo a thorough cleaning, that the use of bleaching powder be consistently enforced, and that citizens be assured of a continuous and safe water supply. The MLA stressed that any dereliction of duty concerning drinking water, a basic necessity, is unacceptable. He committed to ongoing oversight of the situation and will communicate with the department as needed to ensure Hazaribagh’s residents receive clean and safe drinking water without delay.
