Raipur, 26 December 2025. Under the Public Distribution System, food grains are currently being distributed to ration card holders through e-pulse machines using Aadhaar-based authentication. Beneficiaries undergo biometric verification to withdraw the food, ensuring transparency and accountability. The system’s priority is to supply food grains only to genuine beneficiaries. The Department of Food, Civil Supply and Consumer Protection has formed teams of officials to regularly monitor fair price shops. These teams inspected and checked various fair price stores. During inspections, the distribution process, record keeping, and status of Aadhaar authentication were specifically examined. During the investigation, irregularities were found in some fair price shops. Taking these irregularities seriously, strict action was taken against the operators of the concerned shops in accordance with regulatory provisions. The government’s intent is not to tolerate any negligence or irregularity in the public distribution system. The food controller, Raipur district, has terminated the shop’operation rights of the following cooperatives and registered them with other fair price shops: ID 441001314 “Madam Bhagwati Food Security Nutrition & Consumer Cooperative Society, Bairan Market” and ID 441001256 “Shri Jai Shetla Kali Food Security Nutrition & Consumer Service Cooperative Society, Bhadipara”. Additionally, ID 441001148 “Doodhadhari Mahilaa Primary Cooperative Consumer Store, Mahamaya Temple Ward No. 62” was imposed a penalty of ₹7,000 after irregularities were found and a stern warning was issued. Food Secretary Mrs. Rina Babasaheb Kangale said that under the Chhattisgarh Public Distribution System (Control) Order, 2016, strict and necessary action is taken when irregularities are found in the distribution of food grains at any fair price shop under the state. The state government remains fully committed to a transparent, accountable, and beneficiary‑centric food distribution system.
