Dhaka police have revealed that two primary suspects in the murder of political activist Osman Hadi made their escape to India shortly after the incident. Additional Commissioner SN Nazrul Islam informed reporters that Faisal Karim Masud and Alamgir Sheikh used the Haluaghat border in Mymensingh to cross into India. The police have gathered information indicating that the suspects were met by a local contact, Purti, after crossing the border, and were then taken to Tura, Meghalaya, by a taxi driver named Sami. There are unconfirmed reports that Indian authorities have detained both Purti and Sami for their alleged role in assisting the fugitives. Bangladesh authorities are actively collaborating with their Indian counterparts through various channels to ensure the suspects are apprehended and brought back to face justice. Osman Hadi, a significant political figure and critic of the former government, was shot in Dhaka and tragically passed away in Singapore. His assassination fueled significant public outrage, leading to vandalism and heightened concerns over political and communal stability in the country.
