Forecasters have issued a Yellow Alert for a cold wave impacting thirteen districts in Jharkhand, signaling a period of significantly colder weather. The advisory from the meteorological department encompasses western districts like Palamu, Garhwa, Latehar, and Chatra, as well as central regions including Ranchi, Ramgarh, Bokaro, Khunti, Gumla, Hazaribagh, Koderma, and Dhanbad. There’s also a potential for ‘Cold Day’ conditions to develop in the northwestern and northern central parts of the state. Residents, especially in the northern areas, should anticipate dense fog during the early morning and evening hours. Tuesday saw clear but intensely cold mornings in Ranchi and surrounding areas, while fog was prevalent in other districts during the late night and early dawn. Humid localities in Ranchi also recorded fog. The extreme temperatures recorded in the last 24 hours were a high of 26.8°C in Chaibasa and a low of 2.6°C in Gumla. Detailed temperatures for Tuesday included Ranchi (24.3°C max, 5.4°C min), Jamshedpur (23.4°C max, 8.6°C min), Daltonganj (16°C max, 5°C min), Bokaro (21.6°C max, 7.1°C min), Chaibasa (26.8°C max, 9.2°C min), Khunti (25.5°C max, 3.7°C min), Lohardaga (23.4°C max, 6°C min), Latehar (22.5°C max, 4.6°C min), and Saraikela (24.7°C max, 7.1°C min).
