A tenant in Ranchi, Jharkhand, has been arrested for allegedly executing a cyber fraud against his landlady. The accused, a computer engineering student named Abhishek Kumar, lived in the landlady’s house as a tenant. He surreptitiously swapped the landlady’s SIM card with a black SIM. Between June 2nd and June 15th, 2025, he used this SIM to create UPI accounts and extract ₹1.88 lakhs from her accounts using scanners at Common Service Provider (CSP) centers.
