The Nitish Kumar-led Bihar government has introduced multiple schemes to support its citizens. Key decisions include the ‘Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Mandap Yojana’, which focuses on constructing marriage halls in all panchayats, with a budget of ₹40 billion 26 crore 50 lakh. The government has also decided to subsidize meals in ‘Didi Ki Rasoi’ at ₹20 per plate. The social security pension for widows, senior citizens, and the disabled has been increased from ₹400 to ₹1,100 per month. A horrific event unfolded in Lohardaga district, Jharkhand, where a man murdered his girlfriend at a fair before ending his own life. The incident has prompted a police investigation. The couple, residents of the Serengdag police station area, were attending a chariot fair when a dispute erupted. The man, identified as Jaynath Oraon, is alleged to have killed his girlfriend with a sharp weapon. He then went to a nearby forest and hanged himself.
