The Indian EV landscape is evolving, with companies continuously innovating and enhancing their product offerings through research and development. Ather Energy, a leading EV manufacturer, has announced the release of an updated version of its premium 450 Apex electric scooter. This new model features the innovative Infinity Cruise Control system. The reveal took place at the Ather Community Day 2025 in Bengaluru. The 2025 Ather 450 Apex will come standard with this feature, while existing owners will get it via OTA updates.
**Infinity Cruise: A Detailed Look**
Infinity Cruise represents Ather’s proprietary advanced cruise control system, specifically engineered for the unique driving conditions found on Indian roads. It features three distinct modes, tailored for different driving scenarios: City Cruise, Hill Cruise, and Crawl Control.
**City Cruise:** This mode maintains a steady speed on city streets, functioning from lower speeds up to 90 km/h. It remains active during braking and speed changes, automatically recalibrating to the new speed.
**Hill Cruise:** Designed to simplify ascending hills. During descents, it leverages the Magic Braking System (which also controls Magic Twist) to maintain a consistent speed through regenerative braking.
**Crawl Control:** Facilitates smooth operation at low speeds, such as 10 km/h, on uneven surfaces. Integrated Multimode Traction Control enhances stability on wet or slippery roads.
**Performance Specifications: Battery, Range, and Motor**
The 2025 Ather 450 Apex retains its existing mechanical components. It’s powered by the same 3.7kWh battery pack, providing a range of 157km on a full charge. Its 7kW motor generates 9.39bhp and 26Nm of torque. The scooter can accelerate from 0 to 40 km/h in 2.9 seconds and has a top speed of 100 km/h. It includes five riding modes, including Wrap+.
**Additional Features and Market Competitors**
The 2025 Ather 450 Apex is a premium electric scooter available in one variant. The ex-showroom price is approximately ₹1.90 lakh. It maintains the brand’s minimalist design language. It comes equipped with a 7-inch TFT screen, Google Maps navigation, 34 liters of under-seat storage, and 22 liters of front storage. In the Indian market, it competes with models such as the Ola S1 Pro, TVS iQube ST, River Indie, Revolt RV400, Ultraviolette Tesseract, and Oben Rorr.
