
The Chinese automaker BYD is planning to bolster its presence in the Indian electric vehicle market with the Atto 2 SUV. The Atto 2 is currently undergoing road testing in India, with its launch already confirmed in the UK market. Market analysts suggest the Indian version will be priced around ₹35 lakh (ex-showroom). The Atto 2 is expected to rival the Creta Electric upon its release. Regarding specifications, the Indian version could include a 45 kWh BYD Blade battery, offering a range of up to 463 km based on WLTP standards. The electric motor will deliver 174 bhp and 290 Nm of torque, enabling the SUV to go from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds, reaching a top speed of 160 km/h. Design highlights will include ‘Mobius Ring’ connected LED tail lights, NFC key functionality, support for wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a panoramic sunroof, aluminum roof rails, electric folding ORVMs, and rain-sensing wipers.
