Changes to the Goods and Services Tax (GST) framework have triggered widespread price reductions in the automotive sector. These reforms, which revise GST rates based on vehicle specifications, have led to lower prices across several car models. Automakers are actively offering substantial discounts to reflect these changes. Mercedes-Benz India has reduced prices across its entire car and SUV lineup. The new tax structure, effective from September 22, 2025, imposes a flat 40% GST on passenger cars, replacing the previous tiered system. Electric vehicles continue to receive preferential tax treatment. Specific price cuts include the Mercedes-Benz GLA 220d 4MATIC AMG Line (Rs 52.70 lakh, down from Rs 56.50 lakh) and the GLS 450d AMG Line (Rs 1.34 crore, down from Rs 1.44 crore). Skoda India is providing attractive deals, including GST benefits and festive discounts on models like the Kodiaq, Kushaq, and Slavia. Mahindra is offering discounts on models such as the Bolero, XUV3XO, and Scorpio N. Toyota has also revised prices, with savings on models including the Glanza, Innova Crysta, and Fortuner. Hyundai has also passed on the GST benefits to the users.
