
The Indian electric scooter market saw strong activity in July, with TVS Motor leading the charge. TVS Motor’s sales reached 22,256 units, representing a 13.23% increase compared to the previous year. The TVS iQube contributed significantly to these impressive figures. Bajaj Auto secured the second position with 19,683 units sold, a 10.80% increase, backed by the demand for the Chetak EV.
Ola Electric experienced a notable decline, with sales decreasing by 57.29%, resulting in 17,852 units sold. Ather Energy recorded a strong performance, claiming the fourth spot with a 59.04% increase in sales, reaching 16,251 units. Models like the Ather 450X and 450S were popular among customers. Hero MotoCorp showed significant growth in the EV segment, with sales surging by 107.20% to 10,501 units, fueled by the Vida series scooters.
The TVS iQube range starts with a base variant that features a 2.2kWh battery, offering a 75 km range. This base model can charge from 0 to 80 percent in two hours and comes with a 950W charger. The base iQube model’s top speed is 75 km/h, with a weight of 115 kg, and a 30-liter under-seat storage area. The base variant is priced at ₹94,999.
The 3.4kWh battery variant is also available, including a 5-inch TFT display with features such as anti-theft alerts and turn-by-turn navigation. The iQube ST 3.4kWh offers a range of 100 km and has a 7-inch touchscreen TFT display with Alexa voice assist, digital document storage, Bluetooth, and a tire pressure monitoring system. The ST 3.4kWh is priced at ₹1,55,555. The ST 5.1kWh, with its largest battery capacity, provides a 150 km range. The iQube ST 5.1 has a top speed of 82 km/h and takes approximately 4 hours and 18 minutes to charge from 0 to 80 percent. The ST 5.1kWh, priced at ₹1,85,373, also includes all the features of the ST 3.4kWh.
