The electric vehicle market in India is expanding, with OEMs planning a range of new models to meet rising consumer demand. Although the existing EV market features some budget-friendly options from brands like MG and Tata, the availability of compact electric SUVs remains limited. This is expected to change in 2026 with the introduction of four new affordable compact electric SUVs. The Mahindra XUV 3XO EV, expected to be the most affordable offering from the domestic car manufacturer, is anticipated with a smaller battery pack and electric motor. Kia’s Syros EV, with battery pack options, is also planned, along with the Vinfast VF3, which aims to offer an affordable option. The Hyundai Inster EV, designed to compete with the Tata Punch EV, will also be available, featuring advanced driver-assistance systems and a 360-degree camera.
