The electric passenger vehicle market in India witnessed robust growth in July 2025, with sales surging by 93% compared to the previous year. Tata Motors, the market leader, maintained its top position, selling over 6,000 units. However, the company’s market share slightly decreased due to the increasing competition. Meanwhile, JSW MG Motor India and Mahindra showcased impressive growth, exceeding 200% year-over-year. Despite this, they still trailed behind Tata Motors in overall sales.
MG Motor has gained market share, particularly with its Windsor model. MG’s market share increased significantly. The introduction of the M9 MPV and Cyberster electric sports car further strengthens its position in the premium segment. Mahindra also saw a boost in EV sales, driven by its BE 6 and XEV 9e models. The company has started delivering mid-spec Pack Two variants of its electric SUVs. These should further boost sales.
