Skoda Auto is embarking on a strategy to significantly expand its Indian market presence by launching more of its celebrated global model range. This move is intended to serve a broader customer base with diverse automotive needs. Presently, Skoda vehicles in India are priced from approximately Rs 7 lakh to above Rs 40 lakh, but the company has opted against an immediate introduction of electric vehicles (EVs) into the country.
According to brand leadership, the upcoming year will see the established portfolio of locally manufactured cars continue. However, to add excitement and variety, Skoda plans to import a selection of its iconic international models to India. This follows a successful pattern seen with vehicles like the Octavia. Details regarding these upcoming imports remain undisclosed.
Skoda’s current Indian offerings include the locally assembled Kylaq, Kushaq, and Slavia, along with imported models like the Octavia and Kodiaq. The company is experiencing its best sales performance in India, having recorded 61,607 units sold from January to October 2025, surpassing its previous annual record. Maintaining a 2% market share in the domestic passenger vehicle sector is a key objective.
Buoyed by recent economic tailwinds, strong sales momentum is anticipated to carry through the remainder of the year. Further enhancements are planned for the Kylaq model line with additional trims, alongside updates for the Kushaq and Slavia. Addressing its electric vehicle strategy, Skoda acknowledges the global transition to EVs. However, Skoda notes that recent market instability, including evolving trade policies and the uncertain EV policy landscape, has complicated the creation of a concrete EV launch plan for India. The company emphasizes its commitment to EVs for the future, acknowledging their indispensable role, despite a potential delay in the pace of electrification.
