The Odisha government is launching a new Draft EV Policy 2025 to encourage the use of electric vehicles within the state. A key feature of the policy is an increase in subsidies for electric two-wheelers, raising the amount from ₹20,000 to ₹30,000. This initiative is designed to make electric vehicles more accessible and attractive to consumers.
The policy will apply to permanent residents of Odisha, with each beneficiary eligible for incentives once per electric vehicle segment. Furthermore, the draft policy proposes a dedicated fund of ₹15 crore to support Research and Development (R&D) activities in this sector. The state aims to have EVs account for 50% of new registrations by 2030.
