TVS has entered the competitive scooter market with the launch of the Ntorq 150, setting the stage for a comparison against rivals like the Aprilia SR 175, Hero Xoom 160, and Yamaha Aerox 155. This analysis offers a detailed look at the specifications, features, and overall performance of these scooters.
The Ntorq 150 combines sporty design with advanced features and an accessible price point. It features two distinct riding modes (Street and Race) and single-channel ABS. Street mode prioritizes fuel efficiency and smoother power delivery, with the engine producing 10.9hp. The ISG’s electric boost is disabled, but features such as silent start and stop/start technology are retained. Race mode offers the full 13.2hp output along with access to the ISG’s electric boost for enhanced acceleration.
Practical features such as a parking brake lock, adjustable levers, and a 22-liter underseat storage with a USB charging port enhance the Ntorq 150’s usability. Smartphone and smartwatch integration through the TVS app provides access to features like Alexa voice support, geo-fencing, Bluetooth connectivity, music playback, SOS triggers, and crash alerts. The top-spec variant gets a 5-inch color TFT display from the Apache RTR 310. The base model utilizes a split LCD/TFT unit from the Ntorq XT and Jupiter 125 SXC, alongside simpler controls shared with the Apache 160/200.
