Hero MotoCorp is celebrating a major landmark of 125 million units sold in the Indian market. The brand’s origins trace back to a joint venture between Hero and Honda, with the CD 100 motorcycle launching in 1985. To commemorate this success, Hero has released special edition versions of the Splendor+, Passion+, and Vida VX2 models. The company’s celebration includes unique cosmetic upgrades on the new models.
Hero quickly became one of India’s best-selling two-wheeler brands. The company reached 1 lakh riders in 1994, and the Splendor was introduced shortly thereafter. The brand then surpassed the 1 million unit mark and the Passion series was launched. In 2005, Hero entered the scooter segment with the Pleasure line. By 2009, the company had produced nearly 25 million units.
