A SpiceJet flight from Mumbai to Bengaluru saw a passenger endure an unexpected and uncomfortable experience: being confined to the airplane’s lavatory for the entire flight. The airline has offered compensation and an apology for the incident, which has become a hot topic online. The passenger was finally released when the flight landed in Bengaluru after ground staff and engineers broke open the locked toilet door.
The event took place on a Monday night. The flight, which was delayed by two hours, finally took off from Mumbai Airport at 2:10 AM. A passenger in seat 14D entered the restroom shortly after takeoff. The door lock jammed, preventing their exit and causing a mid-air problem. Both the passenger and crew attempted to open the door, but their efforts were futile.
In an attempt to soothe the distressed passenger, the crew slipped a handwritten note under the door, requesting the passenger remain seated until landing in Bengaluru. The note quickly gained traction on social media, with many users finding humor in the situation, including the crew’s penmanship. The flight landed in Bengaluru around 3:45 AM, after which airport engineers managed to open the door. The airline has apologized for the inconvenience caused to the passenger.
