The Hyundai i20, first launched in India in 2008, is preparing for a new generation upgrade, following updates in 2014 and 2020. Celebrated for its attractive design, premium cabin, and diverse engine choices, the i20 aims to regain its market position within the small car segment. Currently in its early testing phase, the fourth-generation Hyundai i20 has been spotted in Gurugram, Haryana. The 2026 Hyundai i20 is poised to maintain its primary styling while adopting Hyundai’s latest design language. This could mean a redesigned front fascia and new alloy wheels. The hatchback lineup might also introduce new color options. Inside, the new i20 is likely to feature a redesigned dashboard along with a 10.2-inch dual TFT cluster. In a bid to enhance its appeal, Hyundai may equip this hatchback with features like ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera, and other premium features. Regarding the engine, the 2026 Hyundai i20 is unlikely to see any changes. Like the current model, the next generation is expected to include a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 1.5-liter diesel engine, and various gearbox options. The performance-oriented i20 N Line variant will continue to offer a 1.0-liter turbo petrol engine, paired with either a 6-speed manual or 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox. The price of the new Hyundai i20 is anticipated to see a modest increase compared to the current model, potentially ranging from ₹6.87 lakh to ₹10.43 lakh (ex-showroom). The car is slated to compete directly with the Maruti Baleno.
