Hyundai Motor India is planning extensive updates for two of its popular models, the Verna and Exter, in 2026. This announcement is part of a broader strategy to introduce 26 new models by 2030, including a mix of ICE, electric, and hybrid vehicles, to cater to diverse customer needs. Hyundai aims to strengthen its position in the Indian market, targeting to become the second-largest automotive manufacturer, and competing against established players such as Mahindra & Mahindra and Tata Motors.
The 2026 plan includes the launch of the new Hyundai Bayon compact crossover and Exter EV, as well as facelifts for the Verna and Exter. These updates will likely focus on cosmetic and feature enhancements, while keeping the existing engine configurations.
Reports suggest the 2026 Hyundai Verna facelift will feature significant exterior changes, including redesigned headlamps, taillamps, and updated front and rear bumpers. Interior improvements such as new upholstery and enhanced safety features are also expected.
The current Verna model is available with a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine and a 1.5-liter turbo petrol engine. The base price is Rs 11.07 lakh, with the top trim costing Rs 17.58 lakh (ex-showroom). The Exter SUV is powered by a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine and also offers a CNG variant. The Exter is priced between Rs 6 lakh and Rs 10.51 lakh (ex-showroom). Both the Verna and Exter are anticipated to have a slight price increase following the midlife updates in 2026.
