The upcoming Nothing Phone 3, set to launch on July 1st, is now rumored to feature the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor, a potential change from earlier reports suggesting the Snapdragon 8 Elite. The 8s Gen 4’s CPU features a Cortex-X4 core at 3.2 GHz, three Cortex-A720 cores at 3 GHz, two at 2.8 GHz, and two at 2 GHz. While the new processor is expected to outperform the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, it may not achieve the same level of performance as the Snapdragon 8 Elite due to the lack of Qualcomm’s Oryon CPU cores. The processor is also said to have an Adreno GPU, utilizing a new sliced architecture, and a significantly improved NPU, delivering a 44% speed increase over the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. Additional features such as Bluetooth 6.0, Wi-Fi, and XPAN may also be included. Potential drawbacks of the 8s Gen 4 include the absence of 8K video recording, 4K/120FPS slow-motion capture, and mmWave 5G. Nothing has not confirmed these details.
